Materials Characterization Group Beamline Advisory Groups

The Materials Characterization Group has two Beamline Advisory Groups, split by the two main areas of research in the group.

The High Energy Materials Diffraction BAG advises the MC group leader and APS management on instruments and infrastructure related to high energy x-ray diffraction microscopy (HEDM) and high-energy wide-angle and small-angle diffraction of materials and biomaterials, work primarily done at 1-ID. The membership of this committee can be found on the appropriate XSD web page. Refer to the HEMD BAG web page for minutes, reports and other communication related to this committee.

The Structural Characterization BAG advises the MC group leader and APS management on instruments and infrastructure related to structural determination techniques used at 1-BM, 11-BM and at 1-ID. This work is mostly crystallographic structure determination from powder diffraction, but also covers some micro-PDF work, primarily in diamond-anvil pressure cells and some diffuse scattering work. The membership of this committee can be found on the appropriate XSD web page. Refer to the SC BAG web page for minutes, reports and other communication related to this committee.
