All APS users (on-site AND mail-in) must complete a registration Form for Access to Argonne National Laboratory's DOE/BES National User Facilities.

International users are required to provide passport and citizenship information as part of the registration process. This is required even for users who have no plans to travel to the facility, and will only mail samples to the APS.

Part of the registration form asks about VISA information. Citizens of Canada, Mexico, and other countries on the USA visa waiver list can ignore this question.


VISA Current visa information/or LPR cards is required for all citizens of all countries except Canada, Mexico, and 27 countries on the visa waiver list (passport and I-94 are still required.)

You can just put "visa applied for" and we'll be able to begin processing your registration.
